Anyway, as for the Oscars: pretty exciting. Apart from the Jennifer Lawrence win. That just dragged down everything. Don't get me wrong, I love her. I liked her in Silver Linings Playbook. But you can't tell me that's the best female performance of the year. Honestly. It is so weird that she's an Oscar winner now. I was so happy that Christoph Waltz won, though, that I actually cried in front of my class mates. I adore him. That made my year.
What also made my year was Jessica Chastain's dress. It wasn't as amazing as last year's dress but she looked like a total angel. Plus, Amy Adams looked like a total angel too. Must be the red hair that makes people instantly perfect.
Seeing Jean Dujardin again was nice, too. I can't believe it has been a whole year since then, I swear I'm still in 2011 mode.
This Oscars has made me a little sad, though, since this will be the last one where I'll be writing away about it and running home from school to watch it and stuff like that. It is just the little things that make this day special. Hopefully, though, next year I'll be celebrating a Chastain win (for The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) or maybe even Leonardo DiCaprio being recognised. I can dream.
For now, I'm shutting up shop here. Sorry to anyone who has commented in the past week - I literally have not had any time to reply and everything's a bit irrelevant now, isn't it? Alas, I've said plenty of thank you's in the past and I honestly can't repeat them enough. I'm really thankful of anyone who has taken the time to read the blog and comment and stuff. I am looking forward to having some free nights with lots of sleep and a few more movies in my life. Maybe I'll be back here again. Just keep an eye out in your feed.
If not, hopefully you'll see me at the Oscars in 20 years time.
:( :(
ReplyDeleteGoodbye.
See you at the Oscars in 20 years time Stevee. You've got your priorities in the right place.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a pleasure to know you and don't be a stranger. Pop in once in a while for a cup of coffee or toss me a mail.
*hugs*
Jessica
Goodbye friend, fellow blogger and writing inspiration. I wish you all the best. Thanks for providing so many great reads for so long. Has really made a difference.
ReplyDeleteThis is not goodbye, because we'll still chat occasionally on twitface and the like. Do your best at school this year Stevee - I've been through it all before (twice, if you can't graduating uni as well), and I can only tell you to study regularly, with breaks, sleep well, eat well and if you ever want to talk about ANYTHING feel free to email/message me, okay? xx Love you lots!
ReplyDeleteBye bye! Be good and see you in the movie world! :)
ReplyDeleteNO. NO. I refuse to believe that an awesome blog I just found is closing. No. WHY. I really hope to see you back at one point. :3
ReplyDeleteMakes me very sad to read this, but better stop before it's too late - focussing on your studies is most important.
ReplyDeleteActually you're kinda inspiring me to stop blogging soon too, because it'll be my last year of high school.
Anyway, hope you'll be around some time again.
Thank you for all your awesomeness over the past few years Stevee!
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for a year now and I have to say I was impressed that a 16-year old girl can have this amount of profound perception and appreciation of art. I'm really bummed to read this. I wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteYou know where you're going and how to prioritize, obviously. All the best to you and show them what you're made of out there! Sad to know you won't be posting on here but I'll be reading your past posts over again now. Good luck!
ReplyDelete- TGWD
Stevee, even though I respect your decision to quit blogging, I'd lie if I said I wouldn't be missing your thoughtful posts and comments. Wish you all the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI will miss your blog, but hopefully you hang around Twitter.
ReplyDeleteGoodbye Stevee, I know this is for the best, and hopefully, I too will be there as well, and will maybe see you, at the 104th Academy Awards :)
ReplyDeleteThe force is strong with you, Stevee! Good luck with everything that comes your way. (And I am sure it'll all be good things.)
ReplyDeleteGoodbye Stevee... May we meet at the Oscar very soon... though I will not be showing up as usual since I don't do award shows.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself, and best of luck. Hope to see you back here in the not too distant future.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to have you leave Stevee, but I wish you all the luck in whatever you do. Yeah it is kind of weird to say that Jennifer Lawrence is an Oscar winner, but she deserved that award. I hope to see more posts from you in the future.
ReplyDeleteThis is a serious bummer, as I have enjoyed your splendid blog immensely, but I understand your need to regain some free nights and some sleep. Be well, my friend.
ReplyDelete:( Goodbye...
ReplyDeleteYou'll be missed, but go live a little.
ReplyDeleteBeing in school while running this blog is impressive, but you'll only be in school once, go enjoy it.
You can blog at any point in your life.
Best of luck!
You're one of the good ones, girl! Don't stop for too long because I think you're really talented at this, and you have a true passion. But I totally understand your decision - sometimes it hurts to work so hard at something and feel like no one gives a crap.
ReplyDeleteWait...but I love you blog. I regret finding it so late in the game. Best of luck to you, but please stick around twitter at least <3 cheers
